School Supply Drive

Painting for a Purpose

APCO’s Young Professional Committee invites you to join us in positively impacting Baltimore communities during APCO 2025! Throughout the conference we will be collecting both school and personal hygiene supplies that will be donated to our partner, Weekend Backpacks, who will distribute the items to children in need throughout Baltimore. Help us make this years’ service project have the biggest impact yet!
About Weekend Backpacks
One in three Baltimore students experience food insecurity, the condition of experiencing uncertain or inadequate access to nutritious food. Weekend Backpacks has made it their mission to improve the lives of students affected by food insecurity in Baltimore by delivering bags of nutritious and child-friendly food to schools weekly. They boast supporting 1,900 students and their families WEEKLY by providing bags that provide food for three to four people, for the weekend. Beyond assisting with food stuffs, Weekend Backpacks also assists with providing a new backpack filled with age-appropriate school supplies at the beginning of each year. What better time than late July to help prepare for the new school year?
How to Donate
Find our booth on level 300, near the registration area and donate your item! If you have room, bring suggested items with you as you travel to the conference and donate it when you have a few minutes, OR you can shop or place an order to have delivered to you when you arrive at the conference.

No painting experience needed! Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just looking for fun, a feel-good break, this is your chance to give back in a way that’s hands-on, meaningful and deeply impactful.
